Challenge
Establish Milwaukee’s Mitchell Airport (MKE), among northern Illinois air travelers, as a smart alternative to O’Hare via a new Web site, www.FlyMKE.com, and new viral skywriting campaign, www.SkyMailMe.com.

Solution
Harvest PR created a new microsite (flyMKE.com) to specifically target busy Chicago area travelers who would appreciate the simplicity of a nearby smaller, less frenzied airport. Then to create buzz for the site and new campaign, we created a fun viral site (SkyMailme.com) that allows visitors the chance to send personalized sky-written greetings through e-mail. To launch both sites, we orchestrated a sky-high PR stunt! During a sold-out game at Wrigley Field, a sky writer flew over the crows and wrote “Skymailme.com” freehand in the sky.

Results
A complete home run! Within one week of the Web site launch, Mitchell Airport saw an estimated 2.4 million site impressions and key Chicagoland outlets took notice, including the Associated Press, Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune.
