Challenge
As a longtime supporter of regional food banks, Pacific Coast Fruit Company quietly contributed to the fight against hunger. When “Oregon Hunger Awareness Week” approached, the time was ripe to make the company’s support public.

Solution
Working with the Oregon Food Bank and Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski, Harvest offered Pacific Coast’s full-fledged support of Oregon Hunger Awareness Week. A fresh approach to the press conference – at Pacific Coast’s warehouse facility on a makeshift stage of pallets and produce – created the perfect PR platform.

Results
Pacific Coast’s bustling warehouse was transformed for the morning-long event. In place of forklifts were dozens of food company execs, print, TV and radio media, and Governor Kulongoski. The event netted more than $210,000 in publicity value, benefiting the Oregon Food Bank and establishing Pacific Coast as a valuable community partner.
